Placing a Classified Ad in the Print Edition
of Parents' Press

FREQUENCY: Published monthly. 75,000 copies.
DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF
& PAYMENT FOR AD: Noon of the 10th
day of the month prior to publication (for example, June 10 for
the July issue). If the 10th falls on a weekend or a legal holiday,
the deadline is the previous business day.
Ads received after the deadline will not
appear in the next issue, but will be held for the following
month. (For example, an ad received with payment on June 12 will
not appear until the August issue.)
RATES:
25 words or less for $22; additional words 85 cents each. Payment
must accompany ads. A phone number counts as 1 word. An e-mail
address or web address counts as 3 words.
For an optional bold headline, please add
$5. The limit for a headline is 25 characters, including
letters, numbers, punctuation, and spaces between words.
10% discount if the same ad is run for
six (6) or more consecutive months; full payment in advance is required to receive
the discount.
Ads cancelled before publication
are subject to a $4 service charge.

We do not accept classified ads by phone,
because of the increased chance of error. However, if you are
uncomfortable e-mailing or faxing your credit card number, you
may call it in to Michelle Jewell, classified manager, at (510)
524-1602. Note: We do not have a secure server for credit card
transactions.
Ads must be typed or printed
legibly by hand. Please include when you
want the ad to start, how many issues you want it to appear in,
and a daytime or message phone number in case we have questions.
Advertiser may request
placement of a classified ad in a certain category, but
the final decision on appropriate placement will be made by Parents'
Press. Categories that appear regularly include Child Care, Classes
& Lessons, Counseling & Groups, Help Wanted, Help Wanted
- Business Opportunities, Miscellaneous, Parents' Classes, Parties,
Religion, Services Offered, and Tutoring.
PAYMENT: By check, money order, or credit card. We accept
MasterCard, Visa, and American Express. Please include your full
card number and expiration date.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
Classified ad copy is subject
to the approval of the publisher. Parents' Press retains the
right to refuse any
advertisement; the
advertiser will not be charged or penalized for an advertisement
refused by Parents' Press. The Publisher shall not be liable
for damages if Parents' Press fails to publish any advertising.
Proofs or tearsheets are not provided for classified ads, nor are copies
of Parents' Press mailed free to classified advertisers.
Home day care providers and preschools
must include their icense number in their ad. Therapists must
provide their license number for our files if the number does
not appear in their ad.
Mail order advertisers must comply with all local, state,
federal, and postal regulations (including collection of sales
tax), and include the company name in the ad. You must provide
Parents' Press with your street address, even if you use a P.O.
box number in your ad.
We make every effort to
avoid errors in your ads. Please check you
ad the first time it appears and call Parents' Press at (510)
524-1602 within 10 days of publication if there is an error.
We are not liable for more than one incorrect insertion or for
errors that do not affect the value fo the ad. Liability is limited
to the cost of space occupied by the error.
No requests for special placement can be honored.
