“Spiritual Journeys” Exhibition Dates: Saturday, April 28 – Friday, May 25, 2012 Reception: Saturday, April 28, from 5.00-7.30 PM. Artist talk by Darwin Price at 4 PM. Where: CK Gallery, 4125 Piedmont Ave. (2nd Floor in the Court Yard Mall) Oakland, CA 94606. (510) 759-2535. ckgallery.org Featured artists are Darwin Price and Thomas Christopher Haag (who has 2 murals on Piedmont Ave). In addition work from about 30 other Bay Area artists will on display. About the exhibition: Traditionally, religions have regarded spirituality as an essential part of the religious experience, but the growth of secularism in our society has given rise to a broader view of spirituality and even some atheists consider themselves spiritual. In its broadest sense, spirituality can be defined as the development of an individual's inner life through practices such as meditation, prayer, contemplation or certain actions; for instance the creation of art. In this exhibition we seek to illustrate traditional as well as modern spirituality and how art can meet, or reflect, the spirit.
Mondays, May 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th; Beginner @ 7:30 pm, Intermediate @ 8:30 pm Group Beginning and Intermediate Salsa dance classes take place on Mondays and start monthly. Other classes are held at locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area! Each session is four weeks long, and is progressive meeting once a week. No partner and no experience are necessary! Drop-ins are welcome ($18 drop-in fee). Register On-line, and save money! Anyone can learn how to dance - absolutely anyone. We invite you to try one of our classes and find out what you've been missing. It will change your life! Our progressive series on Tuesdays are designed to get you out into the clubs.
