Rhodopis, A Children’s Opera — Fremont
This two-act children’s opera by Sanford Jones stars the elementary classes of Montessori School of Fremont. It is the story of Rhodopis, a woman ruler of Egypt, who, as a young girl is kidnapped and taken to Samos where she befriends Aesop of fable fame. Later sold as a slave, she marries the Egyptian pharaoh and rules Egypt after his death.
